Getting Ready
Prepping for the wipe and write addition activity was quick and easy. I printed the addition cards on cardstock to give them extra durability and to make the colors bright and vivid.
Then, I cut along the solid lines to separate the pieces and laminated them so the cards could be wiped clean and used again.
Additionally, I printed one record sheet for each child and grabbed a batch of fine point dry erase markers.
Ocean Wipe and Write Addition Cards
Big Brother (age 6.5) grabbed the first card in the stack and used the picture to figure out the equation: 1 + 4.
One seastar plus four sea turtles equals five all together, so he wrote the sum and then hopped over to his record sheet to record the problem again.
One card after another, he solved the problem and added it to his sheet. Such a fun way to work on addition to 12!
